Hello,
nice review. I am wondering though, because I use virtual box to run ubuntu on my iMac machine and for me it seems slow …. did you try it yet, or no, and if you have do you find vmware or parallels beter aka faster than vbox?
I was also thinking to maybe go ahead and try runing ubuntu on a dedicated partition … do you know how this works?
Thanks ….
I yust would like to have a better ubuntu expirience … faster.
And then again … having ubuntu runing fullscreen in spaces and mac in another space … is also nice.
I am nost sure …. what would work better?!
tnx
I have not used the one your using, but a I know of others that have, and they ran into the same issue with it running slow as well. But I’m sure it’s based on how much ram you allocate to it.
As for VMWare or Parallels I prefer vmware I find it to be more user friendly & just works best for me, but I suggest you try out both of them & see which one suits your needs better. If you have the RAM to spare at least give it 1GB of RAM to use it will run much more smoothly for ya.
You can dual boot like you do with windows, but in all honesty if your gonna dual boot it your just better off running Ubuntu on a standalone PC system. Also running as a Virtual Machine will limit some things your able to do cause of the DirectX 9 or 10 support that virtual programs will allow you to do.
